Chef Marc Lepine was one of 10 chefs invited to compete in the International Shellfish Black Box competition this year in Charlottetown, PEI. After completing 2 separate, live one-hour black box competitions, Marc was declared champion and came home with the $10, 000 grand prize!

Atelier chef and owner Marc Lepine has been awarded a 'top forty under 40' business award for 2012 by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal.

Chef Marc Lepine and the Atelier team earned the honour to compete in the Canadian Culinary Championships after they won 'Gold Medal Plates' in Ottawa this past fall. They competed against some of Canada's biggest culinary heavyweights in Kelowna BC on February 10th and 11th and took home the gold medal!
elBulli Tribute Dinners

On September 7th and 8th, we are partnering with Navarra restaurant to create 2 elBulli tribute dinners, where we will be reproducing actual elBulli recipes -10 courses at each restaurant! This is our way of celebrating the life of a restaurant that opened so many culinary doors, and one that has obviously had some influence on our cooking style.
Ideas in Food

'Ideas in Food' is coming to Ottawa! They will be cooking as guest chefs in the Atelier kitchen on March 28th. They will also be doing 2 classes at the Urban Element the following day: the first on sous-vide cooking and the second on transglutaminase (meat glue).
Best Ontario Sommelier Competition

Atelier's sommelier Steve Robinson has made it to the the finals in the quest for the title of 'Best Ontario Sommelier'. The final competition is being held Monday, June 28th in Toronto. Steve is the only Ottawa competitor in the finals.

Winemaker’s Dinner with Huff Estates

We will be joined by winemaker Frederic Picard of Huff Estates on Thursday, February 19th for a 12-course wine tasting dinner, as part of Winterlude. Frederic will be bringing some rare treats otherwise not available for this special evening.
Cave Spring Dinner

We will be hosting a very special winemakers dinner as part of Winterlude on Tuesday, February 17th featuring Thomas Pennachetti, owner of Cave Spring Cellars. It will be a 12-course blind tasting menu, with Thomas introducing and discussing each wine in the pairing. Space is very limited, so call early to get a spot.

We will be participating in this years 'Feast of Fields' event at Vincent Massey Park on Sunday, September 14th from 12:00-4:00 pm. Atelier will be teamed up with 'Love Those Weeds Farm' to help celebrate this years harvest.

Welcome to our website. We are still undergoing renovations at 540 Rochester and are not open for business yet. We will keep you updated through news posts here and through the Atelier facebook group.
