Steve Robinson
Sommelier
Pembroke-native Steve Robinson became enamored with two things at the beginning of his professional career: wine and science. After studying chemistry at the University of Ottawa, he took jobs in both a retail wine outlet and an upscale restaurant to focus on broadening his overall wine knowledge. The job of sommelier at Atelier was a natural fit for Steve, as he enjoys the challenge of understanding why and how wine works with complex, multi-flavoured dishes. In keeping with the food at Atelier, Steve prefers to surprise you with something you may not expect with the menu’s wine pairings. Steve received his sommelier certification from Algonquin College in 2009. In 2010, he competed and placed 4th in Ontario's Best Sommelier Competition.
